Logan Basketball is excited to announce that Logan Thunder juniors Mackenzie Auton and Javarne Hunt have signed with the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women and McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men for 2022 NBL1 North Season. Both Mackenzie and Javarne were the 2021 Logan Thunder Junior Representative players of the year and have progressed through the Logan Thunder pathway into the NBL1 senior representative program.

‍Mackenzie Auton said this about signing with the 2022 Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women –

‍”I really enjoyed the NBL1 2021 season because of culture. Representing my association from under 12 to now NBL1 has always been a goal of mine and it means the world to me to be a part of this team. Coming out of under 18’s I have learnt to control my pace which has transferred to NBL1.”

‍Javarne Hunt said this about signing with the 2022 McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men –

‍What are you most excited about for NBL 2022?

“I am most excited to get some experience throughout this season, develop in different areas of my game and also representing this Logan community which has given me so much throughout my junior years. Also just ready to put the extra hard yards in to get to our main goal which is to win the championship.”

‍What are you feeling towards getting your first minutes in the Thunder senior program?

“Honestly, very very humbled. I am very excited to, just representing the Logan community and my family, can’t get any better than that. Ever since starting basketball back in under 14s and watching QBL all the way up to now, it has been one of my goals coming through the junior program and getting that opportunity now is very special to me.”

‍What does Logan basketball mean to you after coming through the Thunder pathway?

“To me, Logan Basketball is my second home and my second family. While coming through the junior pathway, I have learnt a lot and have developed throughout each season. I have been very blessed to represent this community and can’t wait to do at an even higher level!”

‍Who are you looking forward to learning from the most in the Thunder mens team?

“I am looking forward to learning from everyone in the team but mostly looking forward to learning a bit more from Jeremy Kendle. Just his professionalism and the way he keeps his standards up on and off court is something that not every player can have. Also putting in extra, he’s always doing something in his off days and to me it’s got me to do a lot more in the off season. Also other teammates like Mitch, Cedar they are 2 other players that I have looked up to ever since coming through the Logan program and now getting to team up with them and learn a lot more from them, it’s a blessing and very grateful.”

‍Mackenzie joins Mikaela Ruef, Ashley Taia, Chevannah Paalvast, Carla Drennan, Indiah Bowyer, Lisa Barnett-Keresoma and Mary Barnett-Keresoma who have signed for the 2022 Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women.

‍Javarne joins Jeremy Kendle, Michael Cedar, Boston Mazlin, Tom Howard and Rasmus Bach who have signed for the 2022 McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men.
