U16 State Championship Results

U16 Thunder Boys 

On Logan’s home court, our U16 Thunder Boys claimed the 2025 U16 State Championship title, marking a back-to-back victory for Coach Geoff Beson in the U16 Boys division. After falling to Gold Coast in the SQJBC Final, the team came out fired up, securing a massive 112–94 win over GC in the State Final. Their grit, determination, and ability to bounce back as a united team is something Logan Basketball is incredibly proud of. Well done, boys!

U16 Thunder Girls 

Our Logan Thunder Girls went through the tournament undefeated, securing both the SQJBC Title and, most importantly, the 2025 State Championship. Focused and ready to win, the girls dominated in the semi-final with a 38-point victory over Rockhampton, then delivered a statement performance in the final, defeating the Seahawks 91–53. It was an unbelievable tournament, with the team standing strong side by side every step of the way. Logan Basketball couldn’t be prouder of their effort, heart, and unity. Well done, girls!

U16 Thunder Blue Girls 

ur Thunder Blue Girls came into the State Championship ready to compete. After a narrow loss in the semi-final to the eventual champions, the girls bounced back strong to bring home the bronze medal in League 4. They played with heart, for each other, and gave it everything right to the end. Logan Basketball loved seeing them thrive at the pinnacle of their season.

U16 Thunder Gold Boys

Our Thunder Blue Boys competed in League 1 alongside our Thunder Premier Boys, finishing 7th in the Premier League Division 1. Having two Logan teams in the top 8 of the State is a first, and something we’re incredibly proud of. The way our coaches and staff led this team through the season was outstanding. Despite a number of narrow losses, the boys represented Logan with heart, determination, and pride every step of the way.

U16 Thunder Gold Girls 

Our Thunder Gold Girls finished their State Championship campaign on a high, securing 7th place in Division 2 after a win over Toowoomba. The girls competed with heart all week, showing up to every game ready to give it their all. Thank you to the coaching staff and team managers for their ongoing support and dedication throughout the tournament.

U16 Thunder Blue Boys

Our Thunder Blue Boys narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot after a three-way tie in Division 3. Competing in Division 2 throughout the SQJBC season, the boys showed continuous resilience and effort against several strong Division 1 opponents. We are incredibly proud of the team and the coaching staff for their hard work, determination, and growth throughout the campaign.

U16 Thunder Maroon Boys

Our Thunder Maroon Boys have moved up a division and competed at the 2025 State Championships! The team has shown incredible dedication, working hard and securing some impressive wins along the way. A big thank you to the Logan Basketball coaching staff for their commitment and the time they’ve invested in the team.

U16 Thunder White Boys

Our Thunder White Boys claimed the SQJBC Gold Medal in Division 6. After moving up to Division 5 for the State Championships, the team finished a strong 5th place in their new division. This group showcased incredible camaraderie, playing selflessly for one another and their coaching staff. Their performance was outstanding, and it was clear how much pride they took in representing Logan Basketball. Well done, boys!
