Celebrating Milestones in Logan Basketball
Last Friday night, we celebrated a significant milestone in Logan Basketball history with a special jersey presentation. This marks our second time sending boys’ and girls’ U14 teams to Melbourne to compete at the Club Nationals.
We want our teams to know how incredibly proud we are of their commitment and dedication to Logan Basketball.
Just What Have They Achieved?
Our U14 girls have achieved remarkable success, clinching the SQJBC season and the State Championship Title. They demonstrated their resilience throughout both finals by coming from behind in the fourth quarter to secure their victories. With such fierce competition, they remained undefeated and earned their spot at Nationals. After a strong finish of third in the country last year from our U14 girls, they have been drawing inspiration from their older Thunder family teammates to help them navigate the next level of competition.
Our U14 boys also triumphed in the SQJBC season with a thrilling win against the Pirates. Their State Championship journey was a roller coaster, with lots of wins and losses that were so in reach, with such a tough competition, it really was anyone’s game. Although they narrowly missed out on a medal, their hard work and perseverance earned them a spot at Nationals and an additional ten weeks of preparation to compete even harder. With intense training and dedication, we’re excited to see what the Nationals will bring for these talented players.
Coaches Jordan Chambers and Ben Roberts guide the teams, diligently preparing them for the competition.
Reaching Nationals is a tremendous achievement, and Ben Roberts encourages everyone to “rally behind the boys and girls teams” and support them every step of the way. Jordan Chambers describes their season as “the growth of a family, willing to grow and develop together.”
Let’s continue to support and cheer for our teams as they represent Logan Basketball at Nationals!
