We are excited to announce that Obi kyei will return to the McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men for the remainder of the 2021 NBL1 North season. Obiri Kyet, a 6’8 athletic Forward from Sydney previously played for the Thunder in 2018 averaging 20 mpg, 9ppg and 2 apg. Obi will join the McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men this Saturday for the Round 7 NBL1 North clash with Jason Cadee and the Gold Coast Rollers.
Obi will bring size, athleticism, toughness and a competitive boost to the Thunder front court as they look to remain undefeated in the NBL1 North. Obi has played for the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL and also professionally in Europe following graduating from Eckerd College in 2017. Obi and the Adelaide 36ers mutually agreed to a release in 2020 for Obi to return to Sydney to focus on is Business interests.
Obi had the following to say about returning to the McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men – “ Feels like a long time coming, and I’m super excited to be coming back up to Logan and contributing that excitement and energy on the court. I enjoyed every minute of my time with the Thunder family last time I was there, stoked to see everyone soon!”
The McDonald’s Logan Thunder Men have made a strong statement to the NBL1 North through the first 6 rounds and will look to continue their unbeaten start by adding Kyei to their front court.
