🏀 Mitchell Young Male Player of The Year – Andrew Watene
Named in honour of Logan Basketball legend Mitch Young, this award recognises not only elite on-court performance, but also leadership, resilience, and a relentless commitment to excellence.
Andrew has exemplified the spirit of this award throughout the 2025 season — leading by example, performing at the highest level in key moments, and consistently elevating those around them. Andrew’s dedication to the game saw him represent QLD with U18 Qld Selection, represent Australian at the U15 Oceania Cup and make his debut in the Logan Thunder men’s NBL1 program at just 16 years of age.

🏀 Mikhaela Donnelly Female Player of The Year – Maddison Reisinger
Named after one of Logan Basketball’s most accomplished and inspiring female figures, the Mikhaela Donnelly Female Player of the Year award honours a player who exemplifies elite performance, composure, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the game.
In 2025, Maddison Reisinger stood tall as a dominant force on the court — combining athleticism with intelligence, determination with grace. Her ability to lead by example, step up in pressure moments, and consistently deliver across the season made her a standout choice for this prestigious honour. Maddison lead her Logan Thunder team to a Gold Medal SQJBC & State Champs(undefeated); and also won a gold medal at the U16 Nationals representing Queensland.
Maddison’s work ethic, competitive spirit, and passion for the game represent everything this award stands for. She continues to pave the way for the next generation of female athletes in Logan.

🧠 John Taia Coach of the Year – Jordan Chambers
The John Taia Coach of the Year award is named in honour of a beloved figure whose leadership, mentorship, and passion helped shape Logan Basketball into the strong community it is today. This award recognises a coach who not only achieves excellence on the court but also uplifts their players, builds culture, and leads with integrity.
In 2025, Jordan Chambers embodied all of these values and more. Her commitment to developing athletes both as players and people has left a lasting impact across the club. Jordan’s tactical insight, clear communication, and unwavering belief in his team fostered an environment of respect, growth, and high performance.
Jordan lead the 2024 U14 Logan Thunder girls to the state championship and a top 10 finish at the Club National Championships. Jordan then won an SQJBC gold medal and a State Championship with the U16 Logan Thunder girls including developing 4 players towards Queensland selection. Thi capped off a huge year of success on court for Jordan.
Whether mentoring future stars or representing Logan Thunder with pride, Jordan’s influence this season has been powerful and enduring.

🫡Len Hamilton Volunteer of the Year – Cristy Bathe
Behind the Logan Thunder basketball program is a network of passionate, tireless individuals who give their time and energy for the love of the game. The Len Hamilton Volunteer of the Year award recognises someone whose selfless contribution, reliability, and unwavering support have made an extraordinary impact on the Logan Basketball community.
In 2025, Cristy Bathe has been that person — a quiet achiever who has gone above and beyond in every task, big or small. Whether it’s organising, supporting events, helping teams, or stepping in wherever needed, Cristy has become a pillar of strength and consistency within the club. Her positivity, dedication, and can-do spirit have not only made life easier for everyone around her, but have also set a shining example of community service in action.

🗣 Nicole Cooper Spirit Award – Trae Dombroski
The Nicole Cooper Spirit Award is a tribute to the heart and soul of Logan Basketball — recognising a member of our community who demonstrates resilience, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to the team, no matter the circumstances. Named in honour of Nicole Cooper, whose legacy embodies strength, spirit, and family, this award celebrates those who inspire through character over accolades.
In 2025, Trae Dombroski stood out not through points or minutes on the court, but through something even more powerful — presence. Despite being sidelined by injury, Trae remained an integral part of the Thunder family. He showed up, lifted spirits, encouraged teammates, and exemplified what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself.
Trae’s loyalty, leadership, and positivity in the face of adversity reflect the very essence of this award and the values we hold dear at Logan Basketball.

⚖️ Referee of the year – Kaidyn De Luca-Mazza
The Referee of the Year award recognises an official who demonstrates exceptional professionalism, integrity, and consistency on the court — someone who earns respect from players, coaches, and peers alike through their dedication to the game.
In 2025, Kaidyn De Luca Mazza has exemplified those standards and more. With a calm and confident presence, Kaidyn has officiated with fairness, focus, and a clear passion for continuous improvement. Always striving to uphold the spirit of the game, he has been a role model within the referee community and a crucial part of ensuring the success of every game.
Kaidyn’s reliability, positive attitude, and leadership make him a standout official and a deserving winner of this year’s honour.
