Logan Basketball Incorporated is proud to announce that Arthur Williams will be inducted as a Life Member of our organisation at half-time of the Logan Thunder vs Northside Wizards NBL1 game this Saturday night at Cornubia Park Sports Centre.
Life Membership is the highest honour Logan Basketball can bestow, reserved for those who have given exceptional service and made a lasting contribution to our community. Arthur Williams is every bit deserving of that recognition.
A lifetime of giving back
Arthur’s connection to Logan Basketball began in 2001 when he joined as a Logan Thunder representative coach, guiding junior teams through the rep program and helping develop the next generation of players across the region. Over the following years he continued coaching at both club and representative level, building a reputation for honesty, directness, and genuine care for the people in his programs.
After stepping away from Logan Basketball to support his son Jesse’s college and NFL career in the United States, Arthur returned in 2021 — not because he had to, but because he wanted to. He found Beenleigh Blitz Basketball Club on the brink of collapse and became the central figure in its recovery, restoring the club’s stability and securing its future as one of Logan Basketball’s foundational member clubs.
A legacy measured in people
What sets Arthur apart is what happens after the final buzzer. Former players who haven’t been coached by Arthur in twenty years or more still seek him out to tell him where life has taken them. Many have gone on to become lawyers, barristers, doctors, engineers, business owners, teachers and community leaders. His philosophy was never about collecting talent — it was always about developing people.
