Logan Basketball Incorporated Awarded City of Logan Sports Awards Organisation of the Year 2021

Logan Basketball was awarded the 2021 City of Logan Sports Awards Organisation of the year. The award culminates a year of success both on and off the court across various Logan Basketball programs.

Some of the highlights included:

  • Queensland State League undefeated Women’s Championship
  • U12 Logan Thunder Boys State Championship
  • U16 Logan Thunder Girls State Championship
  • 11 x Queensland representative from Logan Thunder Junior Teams
  • 3rd place in the Basketball Queensland Vince Hickey Shield which accumulates individual association representative team performance across all age groups at state championships in a calendar year (Our best result since 2011)
  • 7 x South Queensland Junior Basketball Championships – U18 Girls (2020) U20 Women (2020), U20 Men (2021), U20 Women (2021), U16 Girls (2021) U12 Boys (2021) U14 Girls (2021)
  • 7% playing membership growth
  • Opened a new indoor court in the Cornubia Park precinct
  • Launched the McDonald’s Thunderball program at a 6th location in partnership with Jimbomba Basketball
  • Investmentment in excess of $250,000.00 into upgrading the Bendigo Bank Cornubia Park Sports Centre a multi-sport community indoor venue managed by Logan Basketball

Logan Basketball last won the City of Logan Sports Organisation of the year award in 2006. Thank you to all of our members, volunteers, staff, management committee, partners and Logan City Council.
