Originally a Cairns Basketball Junior, Indiah Bowyer joined the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women in 2021 winning a championship in the inaugural NBL1 North Season. Indiah also lead the U21 Logan Thunder women to an SQJBC championship in 2021, averaging 12 points per game in an undefeated season. Indiah returns ready for a bigger role in 2022 as the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women look to replace the loss of retired forward Cassie Carroll.
Bowyer had this to say about returning for 2022
Why did you decide to come back to Logan for the 2022 NBL1 North season?
I re-signed with Logan for the 2022 season because I enjoyed last season so much. We have a good foundation as a team and it’s always exciting being in this environment with the girls and coaches. Being a young player it’s always good to have older and more experienced players to help improve my game and to just be a mentor throughout and I have found that at Logan with my team mates and coaches, so it was easy for me to come back when I have so much support and love.
What have you been working on through the U21 Rep season that you will look to bring to NBL1 2022?
During the U21 rep season I have been working on my game to make myself more consistent in every skill that I have. I have also been working on getting stronger to help being in a league with older and more elite players. My confidence is something that I have been working on also, being able to play in a semi pro league at a young age and being good at it is something that I strive to bring into this new season for the team.
What do the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women need to do to win another championship?
I think to win another championship we need to do exactly what we did last season. We bonded and worked so well with each other and for each other. And like I said the foundation within our team and club is awesome. We just need to put in the work again and show up to every game.
