Logan Basketball is excited to announce that after an extensive search, our new General Manager will be Luca Vergari.
Luca joins us from Cairns Basketball, where he spent many years both playing and coaching before stepping into their General Manager role. During his time in Cairns, Luca led the association to be a finalist for Association of the Year in 2025 and guided Cairns Basketball to NBL1 North Club of the Year, and drove strong growth in participation and facility improvements.
Luca is known for leading with passion, integrity and an unwavering commitment to players, coaches, officials, volunteers, sponsors and the wider community. Beyond the results he’s delivered, it’s his kindness, humility and genuine care for people that have earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who’s worked alongside him – and it’s exactly that kind of leadership we’re thrilled to welcome to Logan Basketball.
Luca holds a Bachelor of Business (Sports Management & Marketing) and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Alongside his basketball career, he has also held teaching positions and been the owner/manager of a café giving him a well-rounded blend of business, education and community experience.
The Management Committee felt Luca’s combination of hands-on basketball leadership, education background and business acumen made him the ideal fit to take on the demands of the General Manager role at Logan Basketball.
