Logan Basketball is excited to announce the appointment of Aja Parham-Ammar as the new head coach of the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women for the 2025 and 2026 NBL1 North seasons!
Aja brings a wealth of experience to the role, having coached both men’s and women’s programs at the NBL1 North level. In 2023, she was recognised as Basketball Queensland’s Female Coach of the Year, a testament to her exceptional leadership, player development skills, and commitment to fostering a positive team culture. Aja’s deep passion for the game and her ability to inspire players make her the perfect fit to lead the Thunder Women into the upcoming seasons.
A Personal Connection to Logan Basketball
Aja’s connection to the Logan Thunder program is personal. With her husband having grown up playing in Logan, she recognises the rich history and success of the Thunder, and she is eager to help continue that legacy. Aja is especially passionate about inspiring the next generation of female athletes, believing that representation matters and that the opportunity to lead the Thunder Women provides an incredible platform for empowering young players.
“The opportunity to return to the women’s side of NBL1 at Logan Thunder was simply too good to pass up! This team holds a special place in our hearts— it’s where my husband grew up playing. With its rich history of success and a fantastic junior program, I’m excited to dive in and help grow the Logan Thunder basketball community. As a female coach, I believe representation matters.
