QSL Coaches Announced for 2025
QSL Women’s Head Coach
Derrick Washington
Derrick brings extensive coaching experience to the table, having led the Launceston Tornadoes women’s team to the SEABL championship in 2018, where he also helped develop the league MVP. He continued to build on his success in 2019, coaching for Launceston in the inaugural NBL1 South season. Derrick took on the role of head coach for the South West Metro Pirates women’s team. We’re thrilled to have Derrick on board, bringing his passion for coaching and player development to our program
QSL Mens Head Coach
Sam Jenkins
Sam Jenkins is a former professional basketball player who represented his country at the junior level. Recently, he was part of the coaching staff for the New Zealand Mainland Pouakai in the professional basketball league. We’re incredibly excited to have Sam join the Logan Family and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make!
QSL Youth Women Head Coach
Joe Noble
Joe, a long-time member of the Thunder family, recently led his U18 girls’ team to a silver medal, following a gold medal at the state championships! We’re excited to see Joe continue working with our QSL youth girls in the upcoming season!
QSL Youth Men’s Head Coach
Sean Gilbert
Sean Gilbert is deeply involved in multiple representative basketball teams, serving both as an assistant coach and head coach. Last season, he led our QSL youth team and is currently coaching the U16 Gold boys into the Premier Division. Sean brings a culture-first attitude to every team he works with, and we’re excited to see him continue to grow and help develop the young men around him!
QSL Gold Youth Men’s Head Coach
Joe Colwell
Joe Colwell brings a wealth of knowledge in representative coaching and is new to the Logan program this season. We can’t wait to welcome him and see how he leads the QSL Gold team this year. Welcome aboard, Joe!
